FAQ’s

What is BLOSS course?

BLOSS is an extensive basic laparoscopic and operative surgical skill course, organized and run by expert and qualified surgeons and teachers. It aims at teaching the safe and correct surgical skills through a supervised hands on training for surgeons and other physicians who need basic surgical skills in their daily practice.

What is the story behind BLOSS?

The idea of BLOSS was inspired from our surgical residents.

In the era of surgical sub-specialization, a lot of surgical residents find low opportunities to learn basic surgical skills. Moreover, due to the expanded use of laparoscopic surgery, performing or teaching operative surgical skills has faded from the residency training programs. We have started to train our junior residents during limited opportunities, and we sensed the need to build a dedicated structured program for our residents that provides them with adequate time and training to improve their surgical skills and achieve a better level in their training.. to help them BLOSS!

Who are the targeted participants?

We welcome all physicians who are required to perform basic surgical techniques in their practice. Surgical residents of all surgical specialties, interns and interested medical students. However, the priority is given to R1,2,3 surgical residents as it is mandatory to learn the basic skills before entering the senior level.
